manifesto

Ani Shinan is the Shipibo word for Big Idea. We chose those words to reflect what we saw as an opportunity to create something special.

We are a small family who in search of healing ourselves on our own personal journeys were led to the Shipibo people, an Indigenous tribe who live along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest of Peru.

These local Shipibo artisans remain true to their traditions and beliefs by hand sewing their clothing, tapestries and beadwork all one of a kind. They are known for their distinctive geometric designs which are inspired through visions.

It is our vision to foster them and spread the Big Idea by promoting and protecting their honest work so they can maintain economic stability and self-sufficiency.
